It's not so soft anymore

Wala namang special sa new year. It's an arbitrary date. (before the christian era, before christ was born), tapos may A.D. (Anno Domini)...

Ay teka nalaman ko na ata. According to my Lexisgoo Dictionary,

A.D.
in the Christian era; used before dates after the supposed year Christ was born

So 0 AD pinanganak si Jesus?

Siguro nga hindi arbitrary. Look up ko nga muna ang Gregorian Calendar

Gregorian Calendar
the solar calendar now in general use, introduced by Gregory XIII in 1582 to correct an error in the Julian calendar by suppressing 10 days, making Oct 5 be called Oct 15, and providing that only centenary years divisible by 400 should be leap years; it was adopted by Great Britain and the American colonies in 1752

Julian Calendar
the solar calendar introduced in Rome in 46 b.c. by Julius Caesar and slightly modified by Augustus, establishing the 12-month year of 365 days with each 4th year having 366 days and the months having 31 or 30 days except for February

Now I'm confused. Eh kung ang birth ni Jesus ay dineclare na December 25 sometime after 0 A.D... wha?! Kulang pa ako sa research (no net access ako this instance eh)

Ang Christmas
1. period extending from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6
2. a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Christ; a quarter day in England, Wales, and Ireland

[insert muslim prayer beads here]

In the spirit of Christmas...

Naalala ko yung commercial last year (di ako nanood ng TV this recent vacation): HAPPY [insert holiday of choice here] to you! Couldn't have said it any better.

A birthday means you have survived an annum (ayokong tawagin na year). Pagnakasurvive ka kasi ng isang annum, naexperience mo na halos lahat ng ibubuga ng nature, since most natural cycles are annual (or less).
